Eisblock XPX Aurora Edge CPU Water Block







Presenting the Alphacool Eisblock XPX Aurora Edge Digital RGB CPU Water Block!

Alphacool first announced the Eisblock XPX Aurora Series CPU water blocks at Computex 2019, and the response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. So much so, that Alphacool ditched the release plan and fast-tracked production in an effort to satisfy the pent-up demand! When seeing these blocks in person, or in photos, it’s not hard to understand the attraction.   

New for the Eisblock XPX Aurora Series is Alphacool’s new patented “ramp system” flow technology. The ramp system directs flow from the inlet down a single channel to the center of a jet plate. This ensures the coolant hits the cold plate fins with even pressure. From there, coolant flows from the center out and is directed down 2 oposing channels into the outlet.

The cold plate on the XPX Aurora Series is machined from copper and features a larger cooling fin footprint of 34 x 32mm with 81 fins. This increase in size is to accommodate for the growing CPU die sizes of today’s processors. Of course, it has also been nickel plated as you would expect on a premium CPU water block like this.

Digital RGB lighting on todays PC water cooling products is expected these days, and certainly nothing new. However, there is something unique about the appearance of the lighting on this block. It comes from the LEDs reflecting off the ramp system channel walls and is amplified by the crystal-clear acrylic top. There are virtually no tooling or machining marks on this water block top, and upon very close inspection, it appears it may have been flame polished. Finally, the addressable RGB LEDs line all four inside walls of the block. The combine result creates a distinctive and attractive lighting style.
