Distribution plates are case-specific waterway channels made of acrylic that route coolant to exact places to allow for efficient assembly of a custom water loop. Standalone distribution plates are the most basic form, being only the plate itself with no allowances for a pump to be installed. Like almost all distribution plates, these will usually be made to fit into a specific location in a specific PC case. One advantage of a standalone distribution case is that it allows the builder to use his or her choice of pumps and locate it anywhere they like. Though they are specialized as mentioned, this allows a degree of customization not possible with distribution plates with pumps mounted on them.
