In custom PC water cooling, heat guns are used to heat rigid tubing to a point that it can be bent into a specific angle or curve and allowed to cool. Bending acrylic or PETG rigid tubing requires the tube to be heated to close to its melting point, and to do it properly it has to be heated evenly across a fairly large area. Torches and other tools that direct extreme heat in a fine spot are not recommended for the job. Overheating either material results in bubbling and deformity. Designed to apply moderate heat to a wider area than a torch, heat guns are the perfect tool for bending these tubes.
