CPU air coolers are designed to remove heat from your CPU and transfer it to the surrounding air to be removed by your case fans. Heat transfer is done through an array of cooling pipes/fins and at least one dedicated fan. Some more efficient air coolers have two fans and some can even have a third fan added if needed. CPU air coolers come in many sizes to accommodate the space available to the user. Small low-profile coolers are available for small form factor PCs with limited room, and large double-fan tower coolers work well for those with more heat to dissipate like overclockers and heavy gamers. When deciding on a CPU cooler, be sure that it fits your CPU. Each is designed to work with one or more CPU sockets. Also be sure that it will fit in the space you have available.
