Overview

The Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora AIO CPU water cooler is a further development of the popular and well-known Eisbaer cooler. Alphacool has improved many details and retained some standards. Above all, the expandability via the quick-release fasteners and the high-quality copper radiators are the core elements that have been retained. The large expansion tank and the option of refilling are two other popular features that have been retained.

The heart of the cooler is the cooler including the pump
. The cooler base is made of copper and has a fine slot structure. The surface has been expanded compared to the previous model in order to completely cover the larger DIE areas of the AMD and Intel processors. The DC-LT pump has also been revised and is now around 10% more powerful with an even lower volume. The expansion tank is many times larger than commercially available AIO systems. This ensures a longer service life. There is also a fill port on the cooler unit through which you can refill liquid if necessary. This is especially important if you want to expand the circuit using the quick-release fasteners.

DIY components wherever you look
A big advantage of the Eisbaer Aurora series is the expandability via the so-called Eisbaer-Ready quick-release fasteners. These have also been redesigned and are now smoother and less conspicuous than those of the previous model. Nevertheless, these quick-release fasteners are 100% compatible with all Eisbaer Ready products such as pre-filled radiators, the Eiswolf AIO water cooler for graphics cards and the well-known Alphacool HF quick-release fasteners for normal DIY water cooling systems, which are available separately. The connectors come from the Enterprise Solution series from Alphacool. They have a standard G1/4" thread and can be exchanged for any other connector. The TPV hose is extremely durable and is also used in the Enterprise Solution series for servers and workstations.

Copper Radiator
As is usual with Alphacool, the radiators are made of copper. Alphacool is the first manufacturer in the world to use copper for all water-carrying components such as the pre-chambers, the cooling fins and the cooling channels to which the fins are soldered. Only the connection threads are made of brass for hardening reasons. The cooling fins are also only very lightly painted. If you look closely, the copper even shines through. The reason for this is the cooling performance, which would be reduced by too thick a paint finish. The fin density is an optimal 15FPI. This means that the radiator also works perfectly with low airflow. Too high a density would require higher-rotating fans. A lower fin density would no longer benefit from faster-rotating fans. Alphacool has chosen the happy medium here.

Fans and lighting
The entire Eisbaer Aurora cooler is equipped with addressable digital RGB LEDs. The pump housing has an Eisbaer pattern all around that is fully illuminated. This makes the case a real eye-catcher. The Alphacool Aurora LUX Pro fans are also fully illuminated with 5V aRGB LEDs. The fan frame has a unique pattern with many small cutouts that create a particularly elegant effect. You cannot see any individual LEDs and the lighting is much more interesting than a simple LED ring. Of course, all digital RGB LEDs can be controlled as desired. Depending on the controller, almost all effects are possible.

How is everything connected?
The fans are controlled as usual via a 4-pin PWM connector. So that you do not have to connect all the fans individually to the mainboard, a suitable Y-cable is included. The RGB lighting is connected via a 3-pin JST connector. Each cable also has an integrated Y-adapter, which makes it very easy to connect the fans together. A 3-pin 5V adapter is included in the packaging. This means that the fans can also be connected to and controlled by any mainboard with the corresponding connection. Alternatively, the included digital RGB controller can also be used. The pump on the Eisbaer Aurora uses a 3-pin Molex connector. This can also be connected to the mainboard.

The Eisbaer Aurora CPU AIO water cooling is a worthy successor to the well-known Eisbaer series and improves many details of the water cooling.
